PETKUS Technologie GmbH, based in Wutha-Farnroda near Eisenach, has been an integral part of agricultural and grain technology for over 170 years. What began in 1852 in a small blacksmith’s workshop owned by Christian Friedrich Röber is now a leading global manufacturer of seed and grain processing equipment.

PETKUS focused on progress from an early stage, with a new production facility being built in 1874 – powered by environmentally friendly hydroelectric power from the Erbstrom river. Today, PETKUS is considered one of the most innovative companies worldwide in the field of mechanical and plant engineering in its industry.
During privatisation from 1994 to 1997, PETKUS invested heavily in expanding its machinery. Even then, the company decided to partner with WiCAM – a step that continues to pay off today.
The current focus is on digitalisation. PETKUS is integrating modern customer software, optimising data flows and modernising its entire production control system.
‘Here, too, we invested in a new production control and simulation system, and of course there are interfaces with WiCAM.’
Mark Scholze, Managing Director of PETKUS Technologie GmbH
In the manufacturing process, drawings and DXF files from the design department are transferred to the CNC programmers. Normally, each programme is tied to a specific machine – but this is exactly where WiCAM’s PN4000 shines. The integrated converter allows manufacturing data to be flexibly transferred to different machine types – an enormous advantage in heterogeneous production environments.
With the PN4000 Multiloop, programmes can be transferred to modern machines in a fully automated manner without having to re-nest parts. This is a major step towards greater efficiency and process reliability. This means:
At PETKUS, the following machines are programmed with WiCAM PN4000:
Whether old or new, PN4000 offers the perfect interface for integrated manufacturing processes.
