PN4000 | Highlights 2025 • 2D programming

Significant upgrades have been made to our top product, the PN4000, this year in order to further expand its vertical range of manufacture and integration into existing systems.

Today, we will give you an overview of the most important innovations in 2D programming for our PN4000 and PNControl programming systems.

New postprocessors

• The development of a new PP for CypCut-controlled laser systems enables direct, optimized program output, increasing the range of machines that can be used for cutting.
• In the past fiscal year, we also developed numerous new postprocessors, such as for a new Trumpf TruMatic 5000 K11, and extended existing PP’s—you can find a complete overview in our current machine list.

ERP connectivity • proalpha connection

Since the company was founded in the 1980s, WiCAM has stood for the seamless integration of CAD/CAM programming with leading ERP/PPS systems such as SAP and is considered a pioneer in its industry in this field. With the newly developed integration interface to proalpha, we are expanding this portfolio with another modern ERP connection. Since proalpha uses the PN4000 standard API directly, a continuous process chain is formed – from order entry to automated feedback from production.

Optimization of the power nesting routine

The Power Nesting module has quickly established itself as a key component for material optimization. Thanks to advanced algorithms that make more efficient use of the available sheet, many users achieve material savings of between 5 and 15%. This reduction has a direct impact on the cost structure and increases the profitability of the entire production process.

This year, our Power Nesting routine has been significantly improved. New parameters enable the system to significantly reduce both the number of sheets required and the NC programs generated. Against the backdrop of ever faster fiber lasers, an efficient part removal process is becoming increasingly important. The current version of our Power Nesting routine uses optimized algorithms that combine multiple NC programs at the touch of a button while ensuring maximum material utilization.

Our PN4000 programming system and the Power Nesting routine are completely manufacturer-independent. Whether you control your production manually or directly from your ERP system, it doesn’t matter whether you use a Trumpf TruLaser, Bystronic, LVD, or Amada laser system—or another CNC system—in your production. With WiCAM, you can control machines from different manufacturers in a uniform environment.

Order control has been optimized • New features in PNControl

PNControl has been updated over the past few months. The revamped user interface and new planning calendar make it easier to manage machines, orders, and capacity. The updated version isn’t available to everyone yet, but you can use it on request.
