Siemens programms with WiCAM

With global solutions for power transmission and power distribution in the medium-voltage range, the Siemens Schaltanlagenwerk Frankfurt, employing 1500 people, is one of the most efficient locations in the world.

Here and around the globe, the automation solutions from WiCAM have been developed and practiced in cooperation with Siemens since the mid-nineties.

Key features from the very beginning are the overnight batch run, the PPS connectivity and the fully automatic common cuts for punching machines. Around the clock special algorithms automatically nest siutable parts with common cuts, protect formings, destroy islands, select flaps and succer positions – and ensure with optimal sequences the gridless unmanned processing until the last part in the clamps.

Communication with the PPS system handles the data exchange for capacity scheduling, material orders and production dates in real time. Over the years, various functions have been refined further in regards to process security and material usage.

More recent projects integrate functions such as automatic unfolding, bend simulation or the control of bending machines into the digital process chain. WiCAM’s open structure, interfaces and development team provide the perfect foundation for further common economic and technological growth. Siemens uses WiCAM solutions at eight branches on four continents.
